the rubric
The rubric for this assignment was co-created by me (Saffyre) and Dr. Sarah Robbins. On the rubric, you will see that there are a minimum amount of points applied to basic aspects of the assignment, such as choosing a resource from the pre-approved list, completing and submitting an audio recording, making sure everyone's voice is heard on the podcast episode, and writing an overview of their episode for possible publication on the site.
The majority of the points are applied to two categories: a thoughtful summary of what the students learned about MMIWG2S and a detailed and engaging reflection on their learning. As these are the meat of the assignment, so to speak, they were weighted the most heavily on the rubric.
Though we did not want to cause undue stress on the students by requiring them to learn a new technology, we wanted to reward the students for trying, so we have space in the rubric to assign bonus points for students who used technology effectively.
